Photostats of two brief letters from Parley Pratt to Brigham Young regarding the former's departure for a mission trip to California. The first requests Young's approval of a missionary Pratt calls "Sister Hill" of Manchester, England, to accompany him to California (this letters also contains a brief note to Sister Hill seeking her consent as an assistant missionary). The second letter accompanied four China shawls Pratt wished to exchange for his debts. He writes that he "wants a settlement in full" with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before departing on an upcoming mission. He offers to pay his debts with his personal property. Includes a draft note for the same letter.
